Important: PDF/A is a validation standard. This tool makes a clean archival copy, but cannot certify PDF/A compliance in a browser. Use a PDF/A validator when an archive, court, employer or government portal specifically requires a validated PDF/A file.

Prepare a PDF for archival review

Create a clean archival PDF copy on your device before you send a document for PDF/A validation. PDF/A is a strict archive standard with technical checks for fonts, colour profiles, metadata and more, so a separate validator is still needed when a recipient explicitly requires certified compliance.

Before you download or submit

Review the finished result carefully before using it for office work, an employer, a school, the IRCC portal or another government website. Check page order, dates, names, signatures, readability and the file-size limit for the exact upload form. Keep your original file so you can make changes or provide a clearer copy later.

Does this certify PDF/A compliance?

No. Browser-based processing cannot certify the full PDF/A standard. The tool prepares a clean archival copy for later validation.

Why might a recipient require PDF/A?

PDF/A is designed for long-term document preservation and is sometimes requested by archives or formal record systems.

Is my file uploaded?

No. The archival copy is created locally in your browser.
